DCC receiver on board Runs on Code 70, 83 and 100 track curves. Locomotives equipped with Proto-Sound 3.0 can be controlled in command mode with any DCC-compatible control system. While the user may not be able to use all the fantastic features of Proto-Sound 3.0, independent control of the locomotive is possible. This means you can continue to use your existing DCC controller to independently operate as well as your Proto-Sound 3.0 locomotive on the same track with your other DCC locomotives. For more than twenty years, the Pennsylvania Railroad experimented with locomotive designs in search of a fast electric passenger locomotive for mainline service. That search culminated in 1934 with the GG1, a joint project of the PRR, Baldwin, Westinghouse and General Electric, largely based on the successful EP3 locomotive of neighboring New Haven. Industrial designer Raymond Loewy modernized the original cast body into a design that remained contemporary for half a century.
