Moses Maimonides משה בן מימון Mosche ben Maimon - Sephardim

Moses Maimonides Moses ben Maimon Moshe ben Maimon Sephardim Mishneh Torah Mishnah Torah Prohibitions on Yom Kippur & on Shabbat Córdoba, ca. 1320-1380 Golden-colored deer-hide parchment (fallow-deer hide) - Hilchot Yesodei HaTorah (Hebrew הִלְכּוֹת יְסוֹדי התורה; Laws concerning the principles of the Torah) - Hilchot De'ot (Hebrew הִלְכּוֹת דְּעוֹת; Laws concerning philosophy) - Hilchot Talmud Torah (Hebrew הִלְכּוֹת תּלמוד תורה; Laws concerning Talmud study) - Hilchot Avodah Zara ve-Chukot ha-Goyim, Laws prohibiting idolatry and the customs of the Gentiles - Hilchot Teshuva (Hebrew הִלְכּוֹת תְּשׁוּבָה; Laws concerning repentance) In 1180 appeared Mishneh Torah (“Repetition of the Law”), a revision of rabbinical legal interpretation in 14 volumes that organized the Mishnah and the Torah in strict logical order. The work was, among others, heavily criticized by Rabbi Abraham ben David of Posquières, which, in connection with the controversies over his philosophical-religious position, led to the Maimonides dispute. Nevertheless, Maimonides is regarded as the supreme authority in the field of religious legal literature. Unlike his other major works, which were written in Arabic, Mishneh Torah is written in the original Hebrew. * Old Hebrew manuscript * Rare and precious mulberry-ink * Conserved and restored with beeswax * Use of the Old Hebrew letters "Pai" and "Zai" * About 700 years old, manuscript on real deer hide (fallow deer) Content: "Guide for the Perplexed" The Guide for the Perplexed spread in Europe in the 13th century and, despite initial attempts at prohibition, became one of the central texts in religious and philosophical debates. In particular, Thomas Aquinas engaged with it critically and developed his theory of analogy partly in response to the negative theology of the Dux neutrorum. More favorable reception occurred earlier with Albertus Magnus, later with Meister Eckhart and Nikolaus von Kues. Spinoza also engages with it largely critically. In the 18th century Moses Mendelssohn and especially Salomon Maimon drew on Maimonides’ work to establish a modern Judaism in the spirit of the Enlightenment. Among the many 19th- and 20th-century thinkers influenced by Maimonides are, for instance, Hermann Cohen with his neo-Kantian-ethical infusion, or Leo Strauss, whose Maimonides interpretation posited a hidden radical textual sense and is now usually viewed critically. Beautiful and absolutely rare manuscript of the Mishneh Torah on the prohibitions on Yom Kippur and on Shabbat. A precious Torah manuscript on golden-colored deer hide from Córdoba, about 1320-1380. I guarantee its age and originality.
