Dieser außergewöhnliche Orientteppich beeindruckt nicht nur durch seine imposante Fläche von ca. 74 Quadratmetern, sondern vor allem durch seine fein abgestimmte Ästhetik in der Tradition der indisch-persischen Hofkunst. Teppiche dieser Größe werden als „Palastformat“ bezeichnet und stellen aufgrund des enormen technischen Aufwands bei der Herstellung eine absolute Seltenheit auf dem Kunstmarkt dar. Das Muster folgt der klassischen Formsprache des Moghul-Stils, der für seine floralen und elegant geschwungenen Muster berühmt ist. Auf einem tiefgründigen, warmen Rot entfaltet sich ein flächendeckendes Rankwerk. Die Stilisierung der floralen Elemente in edlem Elfenbeinweiß erzeugt einen brillanten Kontrast, der dem Raum trotz der monumentalen Größe eine überraschende Leichtigkeit und Lichtfülle verleiht. Das All-over-Rapport-Muster wirkt durch die klare und präzise Linienführung der Ranken wie ein ewiger Garten und verleiht dem Teppich eine zeitlose und moderne Wirkung, sodass er sowohl in klassischer Architektur als auch in modernen, weitläufigen Räumlichkeiten eine höchst exklusive Aura erzeugt. Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, Beschädigungen an den Kanten sowie durch Einschnitte, die rückseitig repariert wurden. Ebenso sind rückseitig sichtbar mehrere Motorölflecken. This extraordinary Oriental carpet is impressive not only for its imposing size of approximately 74 square metres, but above all for its finely balanced aesthetic, in the tradition of Indo-Persian court art. Carpets of this size are referred to as ‘palace-sized’ and, due to the enormous technical effort involved in their production, are an absolute rarity on the art market. The design follows the classical aesthetic of the Mughal style, renowned for its floral and elegantly curving patterns. An all-over tendril pattern unfolds against a deep, warm red background. The stylisation of the floral elements in a refined ivory white creates a brilliant contrast, lending the room a surprising sense of lightness and luminosity despite its monumental scale. The all-over repeat pattern, with its clear and precise lines, evokes an eternal garden and lends the carpet a timeless and modern feel, creating a highly exclusive aura in both classical architecture and modern, spacious interiors. Signs of age and wear, damage to the edges and cuts that have been repaired on the reverse. Several motor oil stains are also visible on the reverse.
