# Montegrappa Genio Creativo Canova – Prototype Sample Edition Rollerball ## A Tribute to Genius. A Prototype. The Last One Available. Montegrappa’s Genio Creativo series honours the world’s greatest minds — artists, writers, and thinkers whose creativity shaped history. Joining the ranks of Kahlil Gibran and Titian is the master of neoclassical sculpture himself: Antonio Canova. To commemorate the timeless legacy of Canova, Montegrappa created an extraordinary collection of writing instruments inspired by his iconic work, “Le Grazie” (The Three Graces). This particular piece, however, is something even more special. This is an exceptionally rare prototype sample rollerball, not part of the regular numbered production. It represents a unique stage in the creation and development of the Canova collection and offers collectors the opportunity to own a truly distinctive piece of Montegrappa history. Most importantly, this is the last one in stock. Once sold, there will be no further examples available from us. The sculpted barrel is made from synthetic marble in a naturally grey hue, evoking the material Antonio Canova famously transformed into timeless works of art. Its subtle texture and depth capture the spirit of classical sculpture and Italian craftsmanship. The section and cap are crafted from black resin, while the metal components feature refined gold-plated trims, giving this prototype sample a particularly elegant and distinctive appearance. The pocket clip is shaped like a draped veil, referencing the flowing fabrics associated with Canova’s sculptures. Ornamental patterns on the trims recall the embellishments found on ancient amphorae, further anchoring the design in classical antiquity. This is a rollerball pen, combining the artistic presence of the Canova collection with a smooth, effortless writing experience. Designed to be admired as a collector’s piece and enjoyed as a functional writing instrument, it brings Italian artistry to every word. The official Canova edition included 260 fountain pens and 260 rollerballs, honouring the years since Canova’s birth, along with 12 exclusive 18K gold versions. This prototype sample is unnumbered and stands apart from the regular production, making it an especially compelling opportunity for serious collectors and Montegrappa enthusiasts. Presented in a luxurious walnut Montegrappa collector’s box, this exceptional rollerball is more than a writing instrument. It is a tribute to Italian artistry, neoclassical elegance, and one of history’s greatest sculptors. ## Key Features * Prototype sample edition * Unnumbered and not part of the regular numbered production * Last one available in stock * Rollerball writing instrument * Inspired by Antonio Canova and his sculpture “Le Grazie” * Barrel crafted from synthetic marble in a natural grey tone * Elegant black resin cap and section * Refined gold-plated trims * Clip shaped as a draped veil, evoking classical sculpture * Decorative detailing inspired by ancient amphorae * Cap engraved with the artist’s signature * Made in Italy by Montegrappa * Includes luxurious walnut presentation box, warranty, and instructions * Originally released in 2017 ## Shipping Fast, secure express courier shipping with full tracking.
