Here we present a design masterpiece with a strong, bold character and distinctly contemporary look, perfect for those seeking a writing instrument with a stealthy, tech-inspired appearance: the Montblanc StarWalker Midnight Black Metal Fountain Pen. The design of this model markedly diverges from the maison's classic resin pens, offering a unique tactile and visual experience. The body and cap are made entirely of metal and feature a sophisticated matte finish with vertical guilloché lines incised. This textured surface is magnificently enhanced by the total-black ruthenium coating, which gives the instrument a dark gray/gunmetal hue with incomparable charm. The glossy, mirror-like finishes create an elegant tonal contrast with the matte finish of the body. To crown the aerodynamic silhouette, we find the iconic transparent dome atop the cap, inside which the famous Montblanc white star emblem floats. The beating heart of this fountain pen is its magnificent 14-carat solid gold nib (Au585). To maintain absolute aesthetic coherence with the rest of the pen, the nib has also undergone ruthenium plating, presenting a stunning dark appearance, finely engraved with the Montblanc logo. As documented by the images showing the pen disassembled, the filling system is cartridge-based, accessible by unscrewing the solid grip from the metal body. The cap, equipped with threads, can be securely screwed onto the end cap during writing for optimal balance. The conservation state of the item is to be considered in excellent overall condition. The metal structure is solid, free from dents or deformations. The ruthenium plating is well preserved on both the guilloché work and the glossy parts, showing only very light, normal hairline marks from careful daily use. The solid gold nib is in perfect condition and ready for use. The upper transparent dome is crystal-clear and the emblem is intact.
