In this auction we present an authority of contemporary design and German engineering: the Montblanc StarWalker Black Mystery. This model represents one of the most sophisticated and charismatic variants of the StarWalker line, standing out for an aesthetic that blends the rigor of geometric design with the luxury of materials. In the 2026 market, the "Black Mystery" remains one of the most sought-after writing instruments for its ability to project a resolute, modern, and deeply distinctive image. The body and cap are made of black lacquer, adorned with an elaborate laser engraving that creates a unique three-dimensional geometric pattern. This decoration is not just a visual detail, but provides a tactile sense of precision and solidity. The fittings are entirely platinum-plated, creating a cold, authoritative contrast with the pen’s dark body. As with every premium StarWalker, the cap top is crowned by a transparent dome bearing the white floating star emblem. Configured as a ballpoint, this specimen features a smooth and precise twist mechanism. Originality is guaranteed by the customary engravings on the platinum-plated ring and the individual serial number certifying its provenance from the Hamburg manufactory. It is a balanced, solid instrument designed for those who will not compromise between avant-garde style and everyday functionality. The condition of the specimen is excellent. As transparently documented in the macro photographs, the lacquer and laser engravings are crisp and free of significant signs of wear. The platinum coatings retain a mirror-like luster, a sign of extremely sporadic use and careful storage. For the utmost precision typical of elite lines, we note only minimal and almost imperceptible signs of storage. Mechanically perfect, it is presented ready to sign the successes of the coming years.
