Montblanc - Pix-O-Mat Nr

The Montblanc Pix-O-Mat No. 101 is a distinctive four-color ballpoint pen from the 1960s. The model features a striking dodecagonal metal body with a chrome-plated finish and finely executed guilloché. Inside, the Pix-O-Mat accommodates four refills in different ink colors. Particularly interesting is the visibility selection automation with gravity mechanism: To choose a color, hold the pen horizontally or slightly tilted and rotate it so that the desired color marker at the top points upward. Then press the push button; an internal pendulum mechanism automatically selects the corresponding refill by gravity and extends it for writing. This allows the four writing colors to be selected without separate side sliders. The combination of a faceted metal body, four-color function, and the unusual gravity mechanism makes the Pix-O-Mat No. 101 a particularly distinctive Montblanc writing instrument of its era. The four-color ballpoint pen is in very good, nearly mint condition and has been carefully cleaned. The surface shows only light scratches and minor signs of wear. The pen is equipped with four new refills.
