Montblanc - Meisterstück 146 - Fountain pen

We present to auction a true masterpiece of luxury writing and the undisputed flagship of the famous German maison: the Montblanc Meisterstück 146 (LeGrand) fountain pen. This iconic instrument combines a majestic stage presence with unparalleled writing performance, representing the perfect union of artisanal craft and timeless prestige. The body and cap are masterfully crafted in the precious black Montblanc resin, characterized by a deep, flawless shine, enhanced by elegant solid yellow gold-plated metal finishes. The aesthetics are defined by the sleek clip, the three gold rings at the base of the cap (the middle one bearing the clear brand inscription), and the distinctive decorative ring on the end cap. On the rounded top of the cap stands the white six-point star, universal symbol of excellence. The heart of this extraordinary instrument is represented by the magnificent two-tone 14K (or 18K) solid gold nib, finely engraved with elaborate inscriptions including the nib’s identifying number and the maison’s logo. Technically, the pen is equipped with the classic and efficient piston-filling system, actuated by the twist-section, which guarantees generous and smooth ink capacity. The condition of this specimen is to be considered overall excellent. The pen has been preserved with meticulous care: the precious resin presents a splendidly lustrous finish, the structure is solid with no notable defects, and the gold finishes retain exceptional brilliance, showing only microscopic and physiological signs of surface wear due to extremely careful and respectful use. To further enhance the lot, the fountain pen is offered complete with its original Montblanc presentation box, enriched with an interior cavity shaped to elegantly house the instrument. An extraordinary opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs of authorial writing.
