We present at auction an authentic jewel of writing and design signed Montblanc: the exclusive and sought-after Meisterstück 116 ballpoint pen (famous “Mozart” format) in its splendid Solitaire Special Edition "Coral" finish. This model stands out for its compact, exquisitely refined dimensions, designed to sit elegantly inside a planner or in a jacket pocket, combining everyday practicality with a magnetic aesthetic. The design of this special edition plays on a magnificent and luxurious chromatic and material contrast. The body of the instrument is made of precious coral-colored resin, a warm, rare, and vibrant shade that immediately catches the eye. Providing a noble counterpoint are the cap and the gold-plated end pieces; the cap in particular is finely worked with a classic and elegant vertical guilloché pattern (guilloche), which gives brightness and three-dimensionality to the entire piece. Completing the aesthetics are the maison’s iconic elements, such as the three engraved central rings and the pristine white star that rises at the top. From a technical standpoint, the instrument is configured as a mini ballpoint pen, equipped with a practical and smooth twist mechanism for retracting the tip. The photographic shots showing the pen disassembled confirm the total integrity of the internal components and the metal threads, guaranteeing perfect and durable operation. The conservation state of this fascinating specimen is to be considered excellent overall. The coral-colored resin presents as solid, glossy, and free of structural imperfections, while the gold-plated parts retain a splendid shine. In line with our usual and rigorous policy of complete transparency, only microscopic and entirely physiological surface signs (imperceptible micro-scratches) typical of mirrored metal surfaces are noted, stemming from normal, though careful, handling over time. These details testify to the object’s life without compromising its extraordinary aesthetic appeal. It is also confirmed that there are absolutely no personalized engravings.
