Monet - Gold-plated - Necklace - 1950s

Vintage necklace signed Monet, in gold-toned metal, featuring an elegant lariat-type tie necklace construction, characteristic of American mid-20th-century creations. Made from flexible, twisted-link chains, this necklace features a central sliding element from which two long pendants descend, ending in fringes of fine gold chains. Its construction allows adjusting the position of the central motif and the length of the dangling elements. This model fits within the aesthetics of Monet adjustable necklaces from the 1950s, notably the Gibson series, illustrated in Alice Vega's work, Monet: The Master Jewelers. The sliding system and the flexible chains reflect the technical craftsmanship developed by the house during that period.
