Missing Land 03 - Elise Eekhout

Missing Land 03 by Elise Eekhout Painting 55.1 x 27.6 :: ""Country estates played an important role in the spatial development. From the beginning of the Golden Age until well into the nineteenth century there were numerous of these throughout the region which left their mark. Of the hundred country estates in the 17th 18th and 19th centuries virtually none have been preserved in the landscape. The country estates along the dunes in particular were part of an estate which also included large areas of dune soil. As early as the late seventeenth century these were excavated to improve clay soil elsewhere in the Westland for horticulture."" :: Type: Painting Medium: Acrylic Style: Expressionism Subject: Landscape Width: 55.1 Height: 27.6 Depth: 1.8 Weight: 20 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
