Typology: Wall mirror with a shaped frame and a Rococo late taste with wavy profiles. Materials: Carved and gilded wood with incised and punched vegetal decoration; mirror with antique silvering. Measurements: Mirror 42 × 57 cm; overall footprint 66 × 81 cm. Description: Shaped frame with gilded volutes and acanthus motifs on a brown-reddish background. The back shows ancient assemblies and joints; the mirror presents widespread oxidation and losses of silvering consistent with its age. Conservation: Discreet/good for age, with wear to the gilding, cracks, small fractures, and oxidation of the mirror. A light conservation intervention is advisable, avoiding invasive re-gilding. Dating: Second half of the 18th century – early 19th century, roughly 1770–1820. Prudently attributed to the Venetian area. Provenance: From an ancient private collection of the Premoli family, then Premoli Silva, a historic Lombard noble family of ancient origin; the work has been preserved and transmitted within the family collections through generations, up to the current ownership by descent.
