Mimmo Rotella (1918-2006) - La Ciociara

Unique work by one of the most significant and representative masters in the landscape of Italian new abstract realism, an artist internationally recognized and famous for his decollage (the tearing of the poster), who has been the protagonist of numerous Venice Biennales, Roman Quadrennials, and public exhibitions both in Italy and abroad; and the notable homage paid to him by his adoptive city with a show held at the Royal Palace in Milan in 2014. The specific work depicted here shows an icon of his time and a tribute to one of the women he loved most, such as Sofia Loren in a famous film. A representative piece of his highest form of painting devoted to the icons of Italian cinema. The work is protected by a Plexiglass case. The piece measures 97 x 70 cm with an authenticity certificate and a caption signed by Dr. Piero Mascitti, one of the foremost scholars and experts on the master's work, having spent decades with him at his studio. #exceptionalart26
