Milo (1910-1978) - after - Sculpture

A particularly decorative bronze sculpture of a bird, executed after Milo. The sculpture immediately catches the eye with its powerful, almost impressionistic modeling and the richly applied texture in the plumage. The bird is depicted in an alert, stately pose, resting on one leg. The long tail and roughly modeled feathers give the piece a different character from every angle. The whole stands on a sturdy, also sculpturally finished cube-shaped pedestal and is mounted on a dark, polished natural stone base. The work bears a signature/mark on the pedestal and also carries a separate metal foundry/atelier plate with, among other indications, “Bronze Garanti – Paris.” A atmospheric and characterful work of art that comes into its own particularly beautifully in a classical interior, modern gallery display, office, or collection.
