Millo Bortoluzzi Jr. (1938-2012) - Scorcio di canale in laguna

Splendid and evocative oil painting on canvas by the renowned Veneto painter Millo Bortoluzzi Junior, a prominent representative of a historic and esteemed family of artists. Generous dimensions, 50x40. The work depicts one of the author's most iconic, sought-after, and intimate themes: a silent water view, clearly inspired by the placid glimpses of the canals of the Venetian lagoon. The painting stands out for a thickly textured yet airy brushwork, where broad and energetic bluish-gray strokes impart an extraordinary sense of light and fluidity to both the sky and the surface of the water. The chromatic counterpoint is masterful: the desaturated cool tones of the background are warmed in the foreground by the warm hues of earth tones, ochre, and olive green, which describe dense spontaneous vegetation and a typical rural building on the left. A work of great lyricism, capable of conveying that rarefied calm and that subtle nostalgia typical of the best landscape production of the master. The author's signature is clearly visible on both the front and the back of the canvas. Dated 1965, therefore one of the master's early works. Excellent conservation condition. Slight signs of time and wear clearly visible in the photo. Photo as an integral part of the lot description. insured and traceable shipping.
