Military Payment Certificate. Series 521. $5. PCGS Banknote Gem Uncirculated

Military Payment Certificate. Series 521. $5. PCGS Banknote Gem Uncirculated 65 PPQ. First Printing. No. E05189968E. Plate 49. A tough note for the collector who specializes in Military Payment Certificates. Reference material such as the Comprehensive Catalog of Military Payment Certificate records that 6,000,000 non-Replacement $5s were printed under the First Printing but this fails to account for the fact that the $5 denomination is the toughest denomination of Series 521 especially at higher grade levels. Yet scarcely do we ever encounter comparable examples of Series 521 $5s and this example is nothing short of a stunner in terms of color and eye appeal that should easily inspire a strong bid levied at the proverbial hands of a discerning MPC specialist. PCGS Banknote Pop 2/1 Finer. Estimate: $2,000 - $3,000. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
