Mercedes-Benz - SL63 AMG - Glass Sunroof - NO RESERVE - 2013

Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG R231 – 2013 – 5.5L V8 Biturbo – 537 HP – Iridium Silver Metallic This impressive 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG belongs to the R231 generation and combines the comfort and exclusivity of a luxury roadster with the performance of a full-fledged AMG sports car. Executed in the stylish Iridium Silver Metallic, paired with a black Nappa leather interior and the especially beautiful AMG forged alloy wheels, this SL63 AMG makes an impressive impression. The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has a rich history dating back to the legendary 300 SL of the 1950s. Introduced in 2012, the R231 generation marked a significant step forward, with a largely aluminum chassis, lower weight, advanced driving aids, and a more luxurious interior. The SL63 AMG was one of the top models within this generation. Under the hood sits Mercedes-AMG’s 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo, delivering an incredible 537 hp and 800 Nm of torque. In combination with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed automatic transmission, this results in impressive performance, with 0-100 km/h in about 4.3 seconds. This example is further distinguished by its attractive factory equipment, including the extensive Premium Package, the Driver Assistance Package, and the exclusive forged AMG wheels in 19 inches front and 20 inches rear. The original US sticker price was as high as $155,795, while a similarly equipped example in the Netherlands in 2013 had a new price of €196,400. The car comes with the original Mercedes-Benz window sticker, the factory data card, and an extensive collection of original instruction and maintenance manuals. BODYWORK/PAINT: The bodywork of this Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is in neat and well-kept condition and is finished in the original factory color Iridium Silver Metallic (color code 775U). The silver metallic paint has a beautiful deep gloss and presents extremely well. The characteristic long hood, wide wheel arches, low silhouette, and the dynamic AMG styling give the car its recognizable sporty look. The body panels fit together cleanly and the car presents a well-maintained overall appearance. The front features the large Mercedes-Benz star in the grille, the aggressively styled AMG front bumper with large air intakes, integrated LED daytime running lights, and Bi-Xenon headlights with active bending lights. The hood features the characteristic ventilation openings, while the fenders are equipped with the recognizable V8 BITURBO emblems. At the rear, the AMG rear bumper, the subtle trunk lid spoiler, and the four chrome exhaust tips provide a sporty finish. The tailgate is constructed with a lightweight carbon-fiber component, one of the notable technical features of the R231 generation. A notable feature of this trim are the original forged AMG 10-spoke wheels, 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear. These wheels were an expensive factory option at the time, with an additional cost of $1,700. The black finish forms a striking contrast with the silver metallic body. The car features the fully electric and hydraulically operated retractable Variodak, allowing the SL to switch quickly from a closed coupe to an open roadster. The roof also includes a panoramic glass panel with sunshade, creating a spacious and bright interior even with the roof up. Visible window seals, trim, chrome accents, and other body parts present as well-kept. The body shows a few minor signs of use appropriate for its age and mileage but generally presents neatly. The available photos do not show any notably large dents or serious rust. TECHNICAL: Under the hood sits the impressive Mercedes-AMG M157 5.5-liter V8 Biturbo engine, with a displacement of 5,461 cc and 537 hp. This eight-cylinder features two turbochargers, direct fuel injection, four overhead camshafts and 32 valves. The engine delivers a maximum torque of 800 Nm and is known for its enormous pulling power, smooth power delivery, and the characteristic deep AMG V8 sound. The M157 engine belongs to the well-known generation of AMG motors built under the traditional 'One Man, One Engine' principle, with one AMG engine technician responsible for assembling the engine. The distinctive AMG engine plate is also present on this example. The engine is paired with the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT seven-speed automatic transmission, which was specially developed for powerful AMG models. Instead of a conventional torque converter, it uses a wet start-up clutch, providing a more direct throttle response and quick gear changes. Manual shifting is possible via the paddles behind the AMG sport steering wheel. Power is sent to the rear wheels, preserving the SL63 AMG’s classic sports car character. Another notable technical feature is the Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. This advanced active suspension continuously adjusts damping and body movement to help reduce body roll in corners, dive during braking, and squat under acceleration. This allows the SL63 AMG to combine a high level of comfort with the handling expected of a powerful AMG. The car is also equipped with electrohydraulic power-assisted steering, an AMG sport exhaust system with four chrome exhaust tips, and a powerful braking system with silver calipers. In terms of safety and driving aids, this example is exceptionally well equipped. The optional Driver Assistance Package includes DISTRONIC PLUS adaptive cruise control with PRE-SAFE Brake, Active Blind Spot Assist, and Active Lane Keeping Assist. These systems were highly advanced in 2013 and represent an original premium of $2,950. Furthermore, the car features the AMG three-stage ESP system, ABS, Brake Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST, tire pressure monitoring, and a retractable roll bar for occupant protection in the event of a rollover. The engine bay presents itself neatly in photos, with the original AMG engine cover, the characteristic Biturbo intake construction, and the recognizable AMG components. INTERIOR: The interior of this Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is finished in exclusive black Nappa leather (factory code 801A), combined with black ash wood trim (factory code 736). This combination gives the cabin a particularly stylish and luxurious look. The original AMG sport seats are covered in nicely perforated black leather with integrated AMG emblems in the backrests. The seats have a distinctly sporty design with sturdy side bolsters, yet still offer the high comfort typical of the SL-Class. This example is equipped with the extensive Premium Package, which originally carried a price increase of $4,300. This package includes power-adjustable and actively ventilated front seats, AIRSCARF, active multicontour seats, KEYLESS-GO, a reversing camera, PARKTRONIC with Active Parking Assist, and an electrically closing tailgate. The multicontour seats offer extensive adjustability, including a massage function and dynamic side bolsters that adapt while driving. Both front seats are electrically adjustable and memory-enabled. A particularly attractive feature is the AIRSCARF system, which blows warm air from the headrests along the occupants’ necks. This makes it comfortable to drive with the top down even at lower outside temperatures. The sporty AMG steering wheel is wrapped in black perforated leather and features multifunction control buttons and aluminum shift paddles. Behind the steering wheel is the characteristic AMG instrument cluster with special gauge faces and the AMG RACETIMER. The dashboard is defined by the four round chrome vents, the central analog clock, and the high-quality finish with leather and black ash wood trim. The COMAND multimedia system includes navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, voice control, an integrated hard drive, and a DVD changer. The car is also equipped with a premium audio system, as confirmed by the Mercedes-Benz factory data card. The interior also features automatic climate control with two independently adjustable temperature zones, ambient lighting, electrically folding exterior mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors, power windows, cruise control, and an integrated garage door opener. Behind the seats is the electrically operated wind deflector, which significantly reduces interior turbulence when driving with the top down. The wind deflector is clearly visible in the photos. The panoramic Variodak is finished on the inside with black DINAMICA microfiber headliner, giving a particularly exclusive look. The glass roof panel includes a sunshade and complements the luxurious interior nicely. The interior has preserved its original Mercedes-AMG character and presents a very attractive combination of sportiness, luxury, and comfort. DOCUMENTS: This Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is supplied with an American Title and Dutch import documentation. All due duties and VAT have already been paid, allowing the car to be in free circulation within the European Union.
