three traditional artisanal hats in leather and wool – South America (Andes), second half of the 20th century Lotto Description: Provenance: South America (Andean region, e.g., Peru / Bolivia). Dating: Second half of the 20th century (circa 1960-1990). Description: Fascinating set consisting of three unique artisanal hats, expressions of Andean craftsmanship and folklore: Dark leather hat (brown style): Decorated by fire with traditional incisions depicting llama figures, a solar motif (inspired by Inca iconography) and a local human figure. Visible artisanal stitching. Light leather hat: Characterized by elegant geometric and floral motifs impressed in relief, with a rigid structure and adjustable rear lacing. Hat in textile/fiber wool: Made and handcrafted with traditional motifs depicting animals typical of the Andean fauna (llama or alpaca) along the brim and the band. The photographic gallery is an integral part of the description.
