All auctions / Contemporary Art / MEDSAN - Stained Glass Pikachu in the Storm (嵐を駆けるステンドグラスのピカチュウ) - UNIQUE WORK
ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1 In this square format, Medsan makes Pikachu, Pokémon’s mascot, leap into the heart of a large round medallion ringed with gold. Launched mid-sprint toward us, he frowns, mouth wide open, and his red cheeks spew white and yellow bolts. His black-tipped ears stand up, his zigzag tail cleaves the sky, and his entire yellow body is cut into broad panels outlined with fine golden lines. Behind him, a night-blue and purple stormy sky rolls its clouds, streaked with lightning, and red and white Poké Balls float to either side. Farther down, a peaceful valley unfolds its green hills dotted with yellow flowers to a blue lake, watched by a castle with pointed spires perched on a cliff to the right. Around it run gilded tendrils, white lilies, and other Poké Balls; at the bottom, the cartouche メドサン on a golden plaque. Pikachu seems to burst from the storm to defend his valley. A bright, energizing piece, perfect for bringing a touch of light to a contemporary collector’s Pokémon interior.
