ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1 On this square format, Medsan launches Pikachu, the mascot of Pokémon, at the tackle of a gigantic wave. He stands on a red surfboard, knees bent, and opens his arms wide to keep his balance. He laughs with his mouth open, his cheeks red, his sparkling eyes turned toward us, his tail shaped like a lightning bolt raised behind him. Above his head, the deep blue crest curves into white foam claws, and clear droplets float around him like snowflakes. Below, three narrow wooden boats dip into the troughs, their rowers bent to shield themselves from the waves. In the distance, under a pale blue sky crossed by cream-colored clouds, the snow-capped Mount Fuji appears tiny behind the swell. In the upper left, a vertical cartouche of Japanese characters and a small red seal can be seen. Pikachu’s bright yellow bursts amid indigo blues and off-whites. A gleeful insolence at the heart of the storm. A luminous and humorous piece, perfect to bring a pop freshness to the interior of a collector who loves Pokémon and Japan.
