All auctions / Contemporary Art / MEDSAN - Lupin III at Mount Fuji (富士山とルパン三世) - UNIQUE WORK
There is only one in the world - Edition 1/1 On this square format, Medsan stops Lupin III, the gentleman thief created by Monkey Punch, at the wheel of the small yellow Fiat 500 from the Château de Cagliostro, in front of a FUJI OIL service station. Arm resting on the door, one hand on the steering wheel, dark green jacket, black shirt and yellow tie, he turns his head to us with his sly smile. The white and red station lines up its red pump and its tall vertical sign 富士 in white letters; on the back wall, in red, SEE A BRIGHTER JAPAN. Beyond, under a deep blue sky, the snowy Mount Fuji stands out before a huge red sun. A cobalt-blue bay lies at its foot, with a white city on the shore, green hills and a white sailboat marked JPN 88. Tall palm trees flank the right, and their shadows cut into the light-colored concrete of the foreground. A summer stop, in full sun, before getting back on the road. A luminous piece, ideal to bring a touch of Japanese sunshine into a collector's interior of anime and vintage cars.
