There Is Only One in the World - Edition 1/1 In this vertical format, Medsan places Captain Albator, Leiji Matsumoto's Captain Harlock, with his back to the viewer, on a hill of tall grasses, facing a raging sea. He stands upright, his long black cape lined with red snapping in the wind, a sword held low in his gloved hand. In front of him, a vast midnight-blue wave rises and curls into white-foamed claws, speckled with pale dots like a starry sky; further away, a second wave rolls near the snowy Mount Fuji. In the night, white birds streak over the waves and a few brown leaves whirl around the captain. In the upper right corner, a red cartouche bears the characters 宇宙海賊, “space pirate,” above the cartouche メドサン. The deep blue of the sea, the cream-white of the foam, and the vivid red of the cape, lined in gold, share the image. The space corsair seems to wait for the wave to come to him. An intense and silent piece, ideal to add a touch of manga legend to the interior of a nostalgic Albator collector.
