OTE: if you purchase more works in the same Auction you pay only one shipping We invite you to visit our online sales platform “DELAURETISART” Mauro Falcioni (born 1978, Italy) Acrylic, watercolor on 400-gram cardboard Work signed on the front and back Certificate of Authenticity of the Artist Mauro Falcioni was born in Matelica in 1978; he works in visual arts and illustration, and he also studies web graphics without ever abandoning his true vocation: freehand drawing. His stylistic registers range from fantasy to more figurative representations, until finding in the surrealist approach the most effective solutions to express his view of the world. It is under this sign that his style matures over the years, translating the marks of the pencils from paper to canvas and giving his works a recognizable grammar, made of recurring figures and settings steeped in meaning. His poetics: the dream and the moment lived take shape with the passage into memory as much as with the creative act which, through the language used, highlights a difference between the work and the subject. This gap ends up constituting the subject itself. The author presents this insurmountable and, at the same time, essential discrepancy, using psychoanalytic references inherent to the Jungian tradition. The cat guides, inseparably linked to man as a kite to a child, because different images of the same self, refer to the concept of the Shadow, the darkest part of us that we are compelled to domesticate as we approach reality. Every other relationship is present as lack or as a hint aimed at formalizing it: delving into the self, the author forces us to confront solitude-melancholy as an existential condition of man, his peculiarity of “falling out of the world.”
