Order of the Texts, also the same year yearly on the Holidays, and on the Passion of Christ, for Easter, in the Reformed Church of Amsterdam, preached - Amsterdam, Johannes Wessing, [n.d. ca 1780] - (VIII) 78 (4) [Bound with: The Book of Psalms beside the Hymns of the Reformed Church of the Netherlands and the Catechism - Amsterdam, Brandt/Onder de Linden, 1780 - folia 242 (=484 pp) (8), 95 (1) pp - leather binding with blind-stamped frame list between double gold lines on boards - 17 x 10 cm Good. Light scratches corners and edges. Inner hinge partly open - book block fixed in binding. Interior browned, here and there a spot. Only a few foxing, hole/rip at the top of the inner margin of pages 57/58 of the first part. Margin of the pages of the Book of Psalms slightly cut short in places. Inner margin on a few places at the top a little open. One and almost last endpaper loosens. Cover and endpaper (the inside of the cover) are decorated with beautiful, colorfully hand-colored and stamped paper. This type of geometric star- or flower-motifs in red and green was at the time widely used as decoration to neatly finish the inside of the binding 2. Callenfels, 1756 - (10) 873 (48) pp - hardcover - 20 x 15 cm Poor. Later binding. Plates loose, spine strip missing. Hole in first endpaper, corner loss of four leaves. Second endpaper annotated. Interior browned, here and there a spot of moisture on most pages. Some foxing. Inner margin on two places slightly open. Hole in three leaves 3. Nicolaas Beets - Gift to young members of the congregation of Christ - Amsterdam, D B Centen, [n.d. ca 1895/1898] - 80 pp - red cloth binding - 14 x 10 cm Good. Interior browned/foxing. 4. Prolific volume with 5 works in bound in embossed leather binding - Antwerp, (widow) F. J. van Tetroode, [n.d. ca 1805] - 12 x 8 cm - The small spiritual wind-seller, or brief understanding of the origin, dignity, miracles, conditions, privileges, fruits and indulgences of the widely known holy brotherhood of the Five Wounds and Sufferings of Christ. Named the order of the Holy Father Francis, with a complaint by Christ and Mary about ingratitude and forgetfulness of the sufferings of Christ, how one can repay it in kind, how pleasing this is to God, and how profitable to all virtues. With some prayers and seven privileges of St. Francis. - 120 pp - Novena or devout exercises, for the nine days, in honor of St. Anthony of Padua. Containing various exercises and prayers, as well as the daily praise; in honor of the said saint - unpaginated, 84 pp - The small hymns of the holy Father Francis. Once a poem by the H. teacher Bonaventure. Now first translated into Dutch - unpaginated, 80 pp - Exercises and prayers for throughout the day, as well as to attentively hear the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. And some prayers for the fast, and before and after the Holy Communion 34 pp - Explanation and prayers for the service of the Holy Mass - 72 pp - title page edges frayed; inner margin of the last text page firmly glued to the preceding page, hole at the bottom Fair, with scratches and impact marks. Interior browned/virusedfoxed, here and there a spot. Hole in four leaves. Margins cut slightly with some loss of type in places. No endpaper at back. Tear, 0.5 to 1 cm, in the margins of five leaves 5. Mattheus Gargon - The sole comfort, or Heidelberg Catechism, opened and shown, in which it was irrefutably demonstrated that in the Heidelberg Catechism sound grounds were laid for true comfort in life and death - [no title page - Leiden, Samuel Luchtmans, 1729 - (2) 1013 (17) pp parchment binding - 23 x 17 cm Poor. Binding greasy, parchment at the top edge of front board coming loose. No endpapers. Remainder of excipit bookplate. Inner margin of half-title glued to board. Inner margin between pages 8 and 9 open. Inner hinge at back - book block fixed to front board. Last quire leaf-wiper detached. Title print, frontispiece, title page and the 20 pages of the preface and the last 9 pp of the index missing. The actual work is complete. Interior browned/virused/foxed, here and there a spot. Some foxing. Tear in the margins of four leaves. Will be sent by registered mail.
