Offering for sale from a collection liquidation: a beautiful Barbie Chinese Empress doll from 1997 (Mattel 16708). This is a collector's doll from Barbie's 'The Great Eras' collection. Barbie Chinese Empress doll captures the look and feel of the Qing Dynasty perfectly with her authentic costume. From the hat to the elaborately designed jacket with two dragon motifs to the jacquard dress with a stand-up collar, every detail has been reproduced faithfully. Barbie Chinese Empress wears red slippers with platform soles, typical for that era. Her jewelry is jade imitation: earrings and a gold necklace, the Chao Zhu, whose length reflects her rank. The result is a stunningly detailed costume that will make every collector's heart skip a beat. As accessories, Barbie comes with a doll stand. Barbie is still in the original packaging, she is NRFB (Never Removed from Box). The packaging was never opened and neither the Barbie doll nor the accessories have ever been removed from the box. The packaging shows only minor storage traces on the outside. Barbie comes from a well-kept, animal-free non-smoking household.
