Marten Toonder Studio's (Harrie Geelen) - 1 Original...

On December 1, 2010, the cultural heritage of Marten Toonder (all the work that Marten Toonder himself produced) was officially transferred by his heirs to the Dutch state and has since then belonged to the Netherlands. In November 2018 the archive of Marten Toonder Studio's was donated to the Literatuurmuseum in The Hague and the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam. See the last photo. Through the above developments, the chance that any original work by Marten Toonder himself or by Marten Toonder Studio's from this estate will be put on the market in addition to material already in circulation has been ruled out. The well-known animated series Barbapapa (1974) has a strong historical link with the Dutch Toonder Studio's. Although the characters were conceived by the French-American couple Annette Tison and Talus Taylor, the animated series was produced and shaped to a large extent in the Netherlands. The role of Toonder Studio's: Dutch producer Joop Visch (from production house PolyScope BV) recruited animators from the Toonder Studio's for the project. They were responsible for the first storyboards and the crucial model sheets (the official drawing guidelines that the characters had to meet). Production: The first season was co-directed and produced by the Dutch PolyScope in close collaboration with the Toonder Studio's and producer Frank Fehmers. Only in later stages and for subsequent seasons was the actual animation (coloring and the intermediate frames) outsourced to foreign partners, including Japanese studios such as Topcraft. The famous Toonder Studio's illustrator Harrie Geelen was the creative director of the Toonder Studio's for decades. In the 1970s this studio (together with PolyScope BV and Frank Fehmers Productions) was responsible for the Dutch production and dubbing of the originally French series Barbapapa. Geelen worked on the storyboard and wrote the Dutch lyrics for the legendary songs of the series in 1974. The iconic opening line “Haal op het doek voor Barbapapa…” was his invention. This lot contains a beautiful color page, created by Harrie Geelen. In my opinion this is the only page that was made and there is no continuation. Original work by Harrie Geelen is extremely rare and, as far as I know, almost never offered before. See also the photos that give an honest impression of what is offered. This wonderful drawing will be well packed and sent to the new owner by registered mail."}]} Logged as JSON with one key. Ensure proper JSON. Wait: The tool requires exactly one key
