Mart, Texas. $20 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 504. First NB. Charter #5850.

Mart, Texas. $20 1882 Brown Back. Fr. 504. First NB. Charter #5850. PMG Fine 12. A rarity for the issuing bank. This Series of 1882 $20 Brown Back is one of only 23 non-institutional notes recorded here by the National Bank Note Census and this specific example has not traded hands since 2016. Here bidders may look upon signs of prolonged circulation, but this is arguably immaterial for numerous reasons. From lovely penned signatures attributable to Cashier E.M. Parks and (Vice) President W.W. Woodson to the clear detail exemplified by the vignettes Battle of Lexington, 1775 and Loyalty, one is not only met by qualities often lost at this assigned grade, but also something sure to appeal to the collector of Texas Nationals looking to represent this charter in their own holdings. PMG comments "Pinholes." Estimate: $1,000 - $1,500. Click here for certification details from PMG.

Estimate:$600
