Mario Galanti (1923-1998) - Marina al chiaro di luna

Oil painting on panel by the renowned Neapolitan master Mario Galanti (1923–1998), belonging to my family for many years and lovingly guarded by my grandmother. This painting is not just a work of art, but a true piece of the heart that carries with it the soul and warmth of Neapolitan painting tradition. The painting fully captures the mastery for which Galanti is celebrated throughout Italy: the canvas depicts a marvelous, living, pulsating sea, with the fishermen's boats resting on the rippled water under the silvery light of the moon. The reflections on the sea and the contrasts between the shadows of the rocks and the brightness of the night sky create a magical, romantic, and deeply evocative atmosphere, capable of holding the gaze and furnishing an entire room on its own. The work measures 54x44 cm and is enhanced by a sumptuous raised Baroque gilded frame, which accentuates its classical elegance. On the back of the frame is the original vintage certificate, enriched by a biographical note and the painter’s signature, a crucial detail that guarantees its provenance and increases its collectible value. The painting is in excellent overall condition, preserved with great care: the canvas is intact and shows only the minimum and normal signs of time on the frame that attest to its fascinating history. An unmissable opportunity for those who wish to bring the poetry of the Gulf sea into their home and a timeless work of art."
