Tender correspondence from a young husband, focusing on family affairs, but also mentioning visits to Professor Dubreuil, surgeon to the Navy; ship movements in the port of Toulon; his efforts not to embark; preparations for a feast for the Duchesse d'Angoulême, on the occasion of the Princess's voyage to Provence, etc. Letter signed by the Marquis de CLERMONT-TONNERRE, to JOURSIN, Lieutenant de Vaisseau in Toulon, Paris July 5, 1823, announcing his appointment to command the schooner La Toulonnaise.
