Marcellus Emants - Een nagelaten bekentenis e.a. - 1981-1986

‘Mijn vrouw is dood en al begraven.’ With this sentence from his novel ‘Een nagelaten bekentenis’ the not-to-be-undisputed Marcellus Emants wrote the best opening line in Dutch literature. We won’t discuss that here. Apart from that aforementioned masterpiece with that line, Emants wrote a lot more. In this lot a number of other works by his hand, with the special edition ‘Onopgelost’, a story written for ‘Het Gulden Boek voor de Tuberculeuze kinderen’ in 1908. Jan Keijzer of Avalon Pers deserves the credit for having dragged the story out of obscurity 75 years later. The offered copy is one of the 24 Roman-numbered bound editions. This lot consists of: 1.
