Provenance: Sale, Christie's, London, 22 February 1935, lot 69 (as Follower of Maria van Oosterwyck) Condition Report: The canvas has been lined. Craquelure throughout, with some heavier cracking where the paint is starting to require attention. This is most prevalent in the upper right corner. Rubbing and abrasions to the framing edges.Some very light superficial surface dirt and scratching throughout, including one heavier white scratch (approx. 1cm) running vertically in-between the rose and the poppy on the right side. Inspection under UV light reveals light scattered retouching throughout. The presence of a green cloudy varnish may be masking further, earlier retouching.
