The artwork depicts the figure of a woman partially immersed in deep, rippling waters, captured in the ritual act of tilting her head back with her face turned upward. The sculptural silhouette emerges with a powerful physical presence and three-dimensionality from the stone material, creating a perfect fusion between the fluidity of the liquid element, the smoothness of the skin, and the finely layered surface of the background. The precious gold veins that traverse the skin, the marble, and the carved frame represent an explicit nod to the centuries-old art of Kintsugi, highlighting the value of cracks to symbolize the nobility of emotional wounds, the purification of the soul, and the beauty of vulnerability that rebuilds over time. It should be noted that the work is not a real bas-relief in marble nor a three-dimensional physical sculpture, but rather the visual effect of a 2D canvas designed to offer an optical illusion of exceptional depth and tactile relief. A conceptual artwork for a collection, where the restrained gesture of inner rebirth meets the discipline of classical sculpture and the philosophy of imperfection.
