MAETERLINCK (Maurice). *The Blue Bird*, a fairy tale. Paris, Le Livre, 1925. 2 in-8 volumes, one of which contains the illustrations, blue morocco leather; the edges of the covers feature a geometric mosaic design of triangular pieces of red morocco leather accented with gold fillets; at the bottom of the covers, a radiating design of yellow, black, and palladium pieces arranged in a cross in the center, the title in gold, the same decoration on the opposite cover, with stars replacing the title, inner border composed of the same mosaic elements, half-linen lining in brown or blue moiré, blue moiré endpapers, gilded head, cover and spine (Richer binding / Ad. Leroy gilding). 14 watercolors by Georges Lepape reproduced by stencil by Jean Saudé. Copy on Arches vellum. Included in a matching binding: Georges Lepape, Sets and Costumes for *The Blue Bird*, with a preface by Gérard d’Houville, 1927. Album featuring 61 watercolors, including 7 double-page set designs and 54 costume designs, reproduced by Jean Saudé. A print run of 225 copies on Arches vellum.
