Macallan Gold Double Cask - 70cl

The Macallan 12 Years Double Cask Whisky is a tribute to the meticulous craftsmanship and dedication to quality that are characteristic of The Macallan distillery. This exquisite single malt Scotch whisky is known for its rich and complex flavor profile, which is the result of a unique maturation process. The term "Double Cask" refers to the innovative maturation technique used by The Macallan. This process involves aging the whisky in a combination of American oak and European oak casks that were previously seasoned with sherry. The interplay of these two different types of wood gives the spirit a remarkable depth and complexity, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that delights the taste buds. When pouring a glass of The Macallan 12 Years Double Cask, you are immediately greeted by a warm and inviting aroma. Notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and oak blend seamlessly, offering a tempting preview of the sensory journey to come. The rich amber color of the liquid hints at the years it has spent in carefully selected casks. On the tongue, the whisky unfolds like a symphony of flavors. The influence of American oak brings out sweet, honeyed notes, while European oak adds a subtle spiciness and depth. The interplay of these elements results in a balanced expression that showcases The Macallan's distinctive character. The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering hints of oak, dried fruit, and a touch of toffee. Every sip reflects the centuries-old traditions upheld by The Macallan, a distillery with a history dating back to 1824. • ABV 40.0% • REGION Highland • BRAND The Macallan • TYPE Single Malt Scotch Whisky • SIZE 70cl
