M. Palumbo (XX) - Icona Sacra - San Nicola di Myra - 30 x 40 cm

Title of the Listing: Icon of Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra – Tempera and gold/silver finish on panel Details of the Work: Subject: Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra (SAN NICOLA) with gospel cartouche Technique: Tempera with gold and silver finish on panel according to the iconographic tradition Author: Iconographer Master of Monte Sant'Angelo (FG) Conditions: Original work, entirely handmade, in perfect condition Origin and Notes about the Author: The work depicts Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra and great thaumaturge, portrayed in Byzantine episcopal attire while holding a cartouche bearing a famous passage from the Gospel of John: “If I do not do the works of my Father, believe me not; but if I do them, even if you do not believe in me, believe the works…”. The author, active in Monte Sant'Angelo, earned a certificate in iconography at the historic Pulsano Abbey, where the pulsans monks transmitted to him the complex and ancient technique of Byzantine painting, keeping alive the millennial tradition of sacred art. Sacredness and Blessing: This icon is not merely a furnishing object or a decorative element, but a true "window onto the divine," designed to accompany the faithful in meditation and personal and family prayer. The author has already arranged for the work to be blessed directly inside the Sacred Celestial Grotto of Monte Sant'Angelo, a place of worship unique in the world, consecrated directly by the Archangel Michael and by God, without consecration by human hands. For this profound spiritual reason, the icon does not require further blessings. Symbolism and Theology of Colors and Symbols: In Catholic doctrine and Byzantine sacred art, every element of this depiction has a precise and high theological meaning: The Polystavrion (Omophorion with Black Crosses): The garment decorated with multiple black crosses indicates Saint Nicholas’s episcopal dignity and his entire conformity to Christ and to the sacrifice of the Cross. The Hand in Blessing: The right hand raised in the benediction gesture forms with the fingers the letters of the Name of Christ (IC XC), proclaiming the Truth of faith. The Cartouche with the Word: Represents the Bishop’s mission as custodian and announcer of the Word of God and of the Works of the Father. The Golden Halo: Symbolizes the Inaccessible Light of God, the eternal glory of the saints, and the holiness of Saint Nicholas’s life. The Background Finish: Evokes the incorruptible celestial dimension of the Kingdom of Heaven that envelops the Saint’s figure."}}{}?Oops the JSON produced has extra braces. Ensure exactly one key. The content should be a single JSON object with translated_text. Let's fix. Remove stray characters. Provide strictly. Also ensure line breaks preserved. The string contains quotes; must escape in JSON. We already produced with proper escaping? We included quotes inside; JSON string requires escaping internal quotes. We provided as raw with quotes; that's invalid. We need to escape internal double quotes. Simpler: avoid using double quotes inside by using single quotes? Not allowed in JSON. We must escape. This is tedious. We can craft without the Gospel quote full, but requirement says preserve. Must escape. We'll present with escaped quotes around the Gospel passage and other quotes. Also there are double quotes around
