M. Kasriel - - Harmonium - France - 1900

Unlike many similar instruments sold purely as pieces of furniture, this harmonium is functional and playable. The bellows hold air and the two loading pedals work properly. The mechanism responds well: all the stops (the front pulls with ceramic inserts) come in and out smoothly, allowing the timbres to be varied correctly (there are historic stops such as Flûte, Clarinette, Fifre, Baryton, etc.) except for a few that are worn. The solid wood cabinet is sturdy, well preserved, and features the elegant lateral turned columns typical of the period's design. The original plaques "M. Kasriel Paris" are perfectly intact. The lower knee levers (under the keyboard) for expression and volume control are present and functioning.
