Fluorite is the mineral form of calcium fluoride and, throughout history, has been used by many peoples and cultures to create artistic objects. Its impurities give it a wide variety of colors, a characteristic that, in medieval times, earned it the name “flower of stone.” This mineral is famous for the effect called fluorescence, which gives it its name.
