luigi rossanigo - Sublimation of Lord

** During this period I only ship to the EU ** The work up for auction is a sculpture to be hung or rested, made of stretched polycarbonate that recalls the image of the Lord crucified, who, abandoning the cross, leaves his image imprinted in the surreal, stretched space, in yellow color, and it surprises us as his body also vanishes within the piece — hence the title “SUBLIMATION OF LORD.” The work will be shipped within 3 days with authentication and archive number, signed by the artist — traceable and insured shipping — The piece you will receive is No. 1/1 of 2023, measuring 28x23x7 cm with a frame. The stretch or bas-relief on plexiglass is painted yellow. …The deformed canvas communicates the presence of ideas that press for space, pulsating in a balanced play of solids and voids (here again the sculptural masses), they come to life, disappear quickly, in a dynamic vortex that the wrinkled canvas conveys with immediacy. This result, remarkable and original, is ascribed to the persistent pursuit— the first attempts date back to 1972—that led the artist to ultimately move the surface of the canvas. ---Today Rossanigo reaches a milestone never explored before, surely unique in the national scene and beyond, thus abandoning the heritage of 1900 to go further and render his artistic research more than ever current. He works on the transparency of the stretched support to highlight the whole unknown world that lies under the skin of the monochrome space. We thus discover the possibility of extroflating or manipulating materials such as plexiglass, polycarbonate, or other transparent materials that, by their nature of transparency, reflect what surrounds them, creating a new mysterious world made of stillness and mysterious escapes. Hence the ideas pressing beneath the canvas now appear as if by magic in a variety of transfigurations and forms— Thus are born the titles - Fugues - Flight School - Transparencies - Exit - Souvenir in Space - Help - Meditation - Sublimation - Spatial Games - Archaeologies - etc …
