Martin, Isaac. The Tryal and Sufferings of Mr. Isaac Martin, Who Was Put Into the Inquisition in Spain, for the Sake of the Protestant Religion, printed for the Benefit of the Author, London 1723, rare subscription variant, 111 pages plus all seven engraved plates comprising engraved frontispiece dedication portrait of King George I, three fold-out plates depicting the Inquisition, tribunal and procession of the act of faith, three further full-page engravings, with the printed text of the certificate of the Archbishops and Bishops verifying the author’s account, featuring the often unrecorded final page containing a direct plea from Isaac Martin to the reader, requesting recommendations to friends and listing his personal distribution address as "Mr. Scale's at the Pearl & Dolphin in Green Street near Leicester Square", bound in half calf over blue cloth boards, the spine with raised bands, gilt-ruling and a contrasting leather title label, with armorial bookplate for Brian Thynne of Westlands, East Grinstead, to inside front cover, approx 17 x 11cm
