Presented for auction by Second Vintage This classic vintage Longines dress watch presents a highly attractive configuration from the 1970s. Characterized by its refined silver sunburst dial and painted Roman numerals, the timepiece is further distinguished by the presence of its original signed mesh bracelet and fully signed crown, offering a cohesive and well-preserved wearing experience. Brand: Longines Reference Number: 532513 Movement: Mechanical Dial: Silver sunburst finish with painted black Roman numerals Case Size: 33 mm (excluding the crown) Case Material: Silver-tone Production Year: 1970s Condition: Good vintage condition. Timegrapher: -30-35s/day, running strong and steady. Dial and Hands The dial features a striking silver sunburst finish complemented by classic painted black Roman numerals. A small brownish spot is visible localized to the left of the Longines logo, adding honest age to an otherwise highly attractive display. The simple black stick hands provide excellent contrast and remain well preserved, showing a clean finish with no visible oxidation. Case and Crystal The silver-tone case features a distinctive cushion-shaped profile that sits comfortably on the wrist. It displays honest wear, with light surface scratches consistent with age, while remaining free of major dents or deep gouges. The knurled crown is fully signed with the Longines name and winged hourglass logo, presenting in good condition. A domed acrylic crystal protects the dial and remains clear, showing no significant scratches or crazing. Movement The mechanical movement powers the timepiece reliably. Timegrapher testing indicates a rate of -30-35s/day. Performing well within expected vintage tolerances; running strong and steady. Strap The watch is fitted with its original signed bracelet, featuring a fine mesh construction. The bracelet appears well preserved with minimal distortion and secures via a clasp clearly signed with the Longines winged hourglass logo. The strap accommodates a maximum wrist size of up to 19.5 cm. Condition Good vintage condition. The case retains its shape well, exhibiting light, age-appropriate surface scratches without deep marks. The dial remains attractive despite a minor localized brownish spot near the logo. Both the hands and the domed acrylic crystal are excellently preserved. The original mesh bracelet remains in excellent structural condition. Supported by the timegrapher results, the movement is running strong and steady. Dimensions The case measures 33 mm (excluding the crown). Remarks This Longines represents a handsome and honest example of 1970s watchmaking. The combination of its classic Roman numeral dial, cushion case geometry, and original signed mesh bracelet provides a highly wearable and authentic vintage profile. History Longines has maintained a long and respected tradition of producing elegant, reliable dress watches. During the 1970s, the brand continued to experiment with case geometry while maintaining traditional dial layouts, resulting in visually interesting timepieces like this cushion-cased model. Watches from this era reflect a transitional period in design, offering collectors a blend of classic typography and distinct vintage case shapes.
