Reference L2.629.4 belongs to an earlier generation of the Longines Master Collection. Without a dated warranty certificate or other documentation with a clearly readable sale date, the exact production or sale year is not stated as definitive. ────────────────── Case The round case is made of stainless steel and has a diameter of 40 mm. The predominantly polished finish gives the watch the classic look that is characteristic of the Master Collection. The case features slim, curved lugs and a relatively narrow polished bezel, causing the dial to take up a large portion of the front. On the right side there are the crown and two chronograph pushers. The case shows light to normal signs of wear and fine hairlines fitting a worn watch. No prominent heavy damage is present. ────────────────── Dial The silver-colored dial has a fine guilloché pattern and forms one of the most recognizable elements of this version. Time is read with large black Arabic numerals and distinctive blued feuille hands. Depending on the angle of light, the hands change from nearly black to bright blue. Along the outer edge is a detailed minute scale. The chronograph is executed with two sunken subdials with concentric finishing: At 3 o’clock is the small seconds. At 9 o’clock is the 30-minute chronograph counter. The central thin hand is used for the chronograph seconds. At 6 o’clock is the framed date window. The combination of guilloché, Arabic numerals and blued hands gives this model a distinctly classical look. The dial is in very nice condition and shows no noticeable damage. ────────────────── Chronograph The watch features a mechanical chronograph function. The upper pusher starts and stops the chronograph, while the lower pusher resets the chronograph back to the zero position after stopping. Elapsed seconds are shown centrally and elapsed minutes via the 9 o’clock counter. ────────────────── Movement The watch is powered by the automatic Longines caliber L651.3. Caliber: Longines L651.3 Base: ETA/Valjoux 2894-2 family Winding: automatic Frequency: 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour Jewels: 37 Power reserve: approx. 42 hours Functions: hours, minutes, small seconds, date and chronograph Through the transparent case back the mechanical movement is visible. The rotor bears Longines branding and decorative finishing. ────────────────── Timegrapher reading During the measurement the watch showed the following values: Rate deviation: +8 seconds per day Amplitude: 299° Beat error: 0.1 ms Lift angle: 52.0° Frequency: 28,800 A/h The measured amplitude is strong and the beat error is low. The values shown are a snapshot in the measured position and do not constitute a guarantee of future rate accuracy or the technical condition of the movement. ────────────────── Crown and pushers The grooved crown features the Longines winged hourglass logo. Above and below the crown are the two polished chronograph pushers. The combination is nicely integrated into the classic case design. ────────────────── Case back The Master Collection features a transparent case back, allowing the automatic movement to remain visible while worn. Around the window are markings including “MASTER COLLECTION”, “SWISS MADE”, “ALL STAINLESS STEEL” and the water resistance rating. The steel back shows light signs of wear and fine hairlines. ────────────────── Bracelet The watch is equipped with a black Longines crocodile leather strap with croc texture and contrasting light stitching. Inside are the Longines marking, size marking and the designation “UPSIDE ALLIGATOR LEATHER”. The strap shows signs of wear, mainly around the holes and the areas that bend during wear. It is still presentable. The mounted combination is suitable for a wrist circumference of about 20 cm, depending on the chosen setting. ────────────────── Clasp The strap features a Longines-signed deployment clasp. The polished surfaces of the clasp show normal hairlines and signs of use. The Longines logo and brand name are on the clasp. ────────────────── Water resistance The original model specification is about 3 bar / 30 meters. On a used watch, the original water resistance cannot be guaranteed without a recent pressure test. A pressure test is recommended before the watch comes into contact with water. ────────────────── Included Longines watch Longines inner box Longines outer box Longines International Warranty card Longines World Service / Instructions for Use documentation This is thus a full set. ────────────────── Condition Case: good used condition with light hairlines and normal signs of wear. Dial: very good condition. Crystal: clear and neat, with no noticeable damage. Crown and pushers: good used condition. Case back: light hairlines and signs of wear. Bracelet: used, with visible wear around the holes and bend points. Clasp: signs of wear and fine scratches consistent with normal wear. Box and accessories: used with light aging and signs of use. ────────────────── Overall condition A neat Longines Master Collection L2.629.4 chronograph in the classic 40 mm version. The combination of the silver guilloché dial, black Arabic numerals, blued hands and bicompax chronograph layout gives the watch a recognizable and elegant look. The automatic L651.3 movement is visible through the transparent case back and showed a deviation of +8 seconds per day during the timegrapher measurement, with an amplitude of 299° and a beat error of 0.1 ms. The watch comes as a full set with Longines inner box, outer box, warranty card and documentation.
