Introduction The Longines La Grande Classique is one of the most recognizable dress watch collections in Swiss horology, celebrated for its ultra-thin profile and minimalist elegance. This particular two-tone example combines the warmth of gold-plating with the crisp presence of stainless steel, offering timeless versatility suited to both formal and everyday wear. Longines, founded in 1832 in Saint-Imier, Switzerland, has been a pioneer of precision timekeeping for nearly two centuries, and this model reflects the maison's dedication to refined design. Historical & Collector Value La Grande Classique de Longines was introduced in the early 1990s and quickly became one of the brand's signature lines, embodying the aesthetic principles of classical dress watchmaking. The winged hourglass logo displayed on the dial - a mark used across various eras of Longines history - is particularly cherished by collectors. Two-tone variants such as this one are increasingly sought after as vintage dress pieces, offering understated luxury with a slim silhouette that has become difficult to find in modern production.
