Lodderein box - .925 silver - Silver Sealing Wax Holder

This sterling silver wax seal holder is the perfect accessory for everyone who still enjoys sending handwritten letters! It is a nice, hefty accessory, with the grip decorated with an intricate scroll pattern. Size: 6 cm long, 17 mm in diameter. The holder is suitable for waxing sticks of 8x8 mm. Weight: 46.50 grams. Age: Hallmarked for Birmingham and 1901. The maker's mark is partially faded, but could read 'L&S' for Levi & Salaman, who operated between 1876 and 1916. Material: Hallmarked for 925/1000 silver. Condition: In good antique condition with only minor wear, consistent with age. A small amount of red sealing wax is still visible inside the holder.
