Lockhart, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1802-2. First-Lockhart NB. Charter

Lockhart, Texas. $20 1929 Ty. 2. Fr. 1802-2. First-Lockhart NB. Charter #13934. PCGS Banknote Choice Uncirculated 63 PPQ. Serial Number 5. A stunning note in technical terms especially for the grade assigned. This T2 $20 issued by the First-Lockhart National Bank (Charter# 13934) during the 1930s offers a superb testament to a charter that surprisingly remains in business even now in 2026. Here hand-cut margins cut with a degree of precision frame the engraved and overprinted elements of the design while the single-digit serial number which reads "A000005" beckons with uncommon color amplified by a deep plate impression. Held together with the fact that only 16 non-institutional notes are recorded on this charter based out of Caldwell County by the National Bank Note Census and you have a proverbial trophy if you would for an already popular charter that would nicely complement its sheetmate "A000002" which sold in our Summer 2026 Global Showcase Auction (Lot 21260) a few months back. Estimate: $1,500 - $2,500. Provenance: From the Jack Copeland Currency Collection, Part IV. Click here for certification details from PCGS Banknote.
