apoleon III Boulle Marquetry Liqueur Cabinet – France, circa 1860 Elegant 19th-century French liqueur cabinet in the Napoleon III style, featuring curved Boulle-style marquetry with gilt brass decoration on a tortoiseshell-coloured background. The mahogany interior tray contains four numbered crystal decanters with gilt decoration and sixteen matching glasses with gilt rims. The cabinet is in good antique condition, with natural signs of age and use consistent with its period. The original key is missing. Period: circa 1860 Origin: France Materials: Mahogany, brass/gilt brass, Boulle-style marquetry and crystal glass Dimensions: approximately 27 × 34 × 26 cm (H × W × D) Colours: mahogany brown, tortoiseshell brown/amber, gold and clear crystal A particularly decorative and impressive example of a 19th-century French cave à liqueurs.
