refined and elegant pair of small ornamental vases with lid covers (or covered baluster urns on a pedestal) made in Sèvres-style porcelain. Each vase features a magnificent celestial blue background enhanced by rich gilt accents/gold motifs. The main faces are adorned with oval gold-rimmed medallions containing portraits of ladies of the XVIIIth-century court, one of which bears the handwritten inscription "Marie-Antoinette". The reverse also presents a painted reserve with floral motifs and gilding.
