Leicaflex SL Single lens reflex camera (SLR)

The 1968 Leicaflex SL was a fully mechanical camera marketed between 1964 and 1976, in response to the rapid rise in popularity of SLRs during that period. It has exactly the same controls (with their strengths and weaknesses) as the original Leicaflex, but the selectors are black. They were extremely sturdy and superbly finished, but their main flaw was their inability to keep pace with the state of the art in SLR design, a rather limited range of accessories, and the extremely high price compared with Japanese competitors. The viewfinder was made brighter, the focusing screen is fully frosted with a more pronounced central microprism zone that also delineates the spot-reading angle of the new TTL exposure meter. They accepted lenses with 2- and 3-cam configurations; with one-cam lenses it was possible to measure exposure only in stop-down. Insured courier shipping.
