Leandro Olano - Señora de las Fieras

"Lady of the Beasts": The face, painted straight on and with a very pale blue gaze that holds the viewer's without looking away, is framed by a ceremonial headdress in reds and ochres, loaded with beads and a headband with colored stones. A necklace of red and turquoise beads falls over an equally red mantle. Around her, two felines —one with a serene gesture, its head resting beside the headdress; the other with jaws open and an alert expression— build an unstable symmetry: the same woman calms one and seems to provoke the alarm of the other. The palette, warm and saturated in oranges and ochres, is set against a background of deep blues that lets the central figure dominate. Artwork by Leandro Olano, entirely handmade.
