Leandro Olano - Mirada Prestada

Borrowed Gaze. The eye you can see on her is the same color and nearly the same shape as the bird’s—as if vision had been borrowed between the two figures. It’s the same device of “shared eyes” you already used in the previous piece, so this title builds series continuity without repeating the Argos reference, which wouldn’t fit here: this bird doesn’t read as peacock. Alternatives: Burning Plumage (if you prefer prioritizing the warmer, more Fauvist palette than the first work) or The Gesture of Silence (if you want to emphasize the hand brought to the chin). With "Borrowed Gaze": There is only one human eye in this painting, and it is almost identical to that of the bird that encloses it: same amber, same gleam. The bird’s head, resolved in deep blues and purples, frames the scene from above; the female face is instead built with a Fauvist palette of yellows, magentas, and cyan that does not imitate skin but its emotional temperature. The hand brought to the chin adds a gesture of restraint that balances the chromatic intensity of the rest of the canvas. Artwork by Leandro Olano, completely handmade.
