In this symbol-laden scene, Le Yack revisits the chivalrous imagination to reveal its contemporary fragility. The knight embodies protection, strength, and loyalty. Yet his rusted armor suggests time, wear, and vulnerability. The woman, wrapped in a white drape and endowed with monumental wings, seems both celestial and deeply human. The angel tattoo and the heart-shaped balloon introduce a subtle contrast between romantic ideal and modern reality. The work questions what we promise in the heat of desire—and what we are truly capable of protecting. Between pictorial tradition and contemporary symbolism, this piece explores love as a fragile territory, both sacred and imperfect.
